As a bronchodilator, Brovana prevents the coughing, chest tightness, shortness of breath, and wheezing associated with COPD by relaxing the muscles in airways, allowing them to open so you can breathe more easily. It cannot stop an attack once it's started.
Common side effects may include insomnia, headache, fever, stuffy nose, a hoarse or deepened voice, weak feeling, nausea and vomiting, leg cramps, and diarrhea. These only need medical attention if they get worse. Severe side effects that require medical attention include tremors, confusion, restless feeling, unusual drowsiness, feeling faint or lightheaded, fainting, fast heart rate, fast or pounding heartbeat, chest pain, bronchospasm, shortness of breath, white sores around the mouth or lips, dry mouth, increased thirst, increased urination, unusual or rapid swelling or weight gain, muscle pain or weakness, nausea, or vomiting.
